Why a day, and why now
Are you the owner, director or practice leader who ends up doing the admin nobody else has time for?
AI tools are cheap to try and expensive to get wrong. Teams copy information between systems, licences go unused, and people use AI tools nobody has approved. A day is long enough to see the whole picture and short enough to fit a busy diary.
How the day runs
- Before the day. A short call and a simple questionnaire about your goals, your team and the tools you use. No system access or passwords needed.
- Your week, mapped. Where time goes, what gets copied between systems, and what keeps you or your team working late.
- Your systems, reviewed. What you already pay for, what overlaps, and what is not being used.
- Data and safety check. Where your important information lives, who can see it, and what must stay out of AI tools.
- Opportunities ranked. A short list scored by value, effort and risk, with the first three agreed.
- One quick win, live. For example Copilot set up around your role, a tidier inbox and folder structure, or a reusable prompt library.
What you leave with
A written report
A readiness baseline across strategy, data, people, operations and governance, with your systems map and ranked opportunities.
A 90-day roadmap
What to do first, next and later, in plain English, with owners and simple measures.
Something already working
The quick win we set up together on the day.
Clear usage rules
Which AI tools your team may use, for what, and what stays out of them.
We send the report and roadmap within two weeks of the day, followed by a short check-in call.
What the day does not include
- Building or installing new software, integrations or AI agents beyond the one quick win.
- Buying licences or changing your Microsoft 365 tenant settings for you.
- Legal, compliance, cybersecurity or certification advice.
- Work for more than one organisation or department. Larger organisations can use the AI Discovery Programme.
What comes after the day
Implementation is the third step. We scope it from the roadmap and price it on the value of the work, so the cost depends on scope, complexity and the size of your organisation, and you see a written quote before anything starts. Many businesses carry out the roadmap themselves, and that is a good outcome too. For hands-on help, see the Personal Forward Deployed AI Engineer or our embedded AI engineers.
Where it fits
- 1Free AI Readiness Audit15 questions, instant score
- 2Free AI & Tech Stack ReviewOne conversation, three opportunities
- 3Discovery Day£950 + VAT, fixed
- 4Sprint or Discovery ProgrammeScoped and quoted separately
The free review comes first, so we only suggest a Discovery Day when it is worth your money. Larger organisations that need a full diagnostic across several departments can go straight to the AI Discovery Programme.
Where people stay in control
We recommend and set up; you decide. Nothing goes live without your agreement, client and personal data stay inside the systems you already control, and any AI use we set up has a named person checking its output.
Questions we are often asked
Is this right for a small business?
Yes. It is designed for owner-led businesses and small leadership teams. If one day would be too much, the free review will tell us that first.
Do you need access to our systems?
Not to book. On the day we work alongside you on your own screen, and you stay in control of every login.
Will you try to sell us software?
No. We start with what you already pay for. If something new is worth buying, we explain why and you choose.
What happens after the day?
Many businesses carry out the roadmap themselves. If you want help, we quote a fixed-scope sprint for the first priorities. There is no obligation.
